It's TRUE! You cannot trust God if you're constantly doubting Him. The thing about faith is that you believe what you cannot see and you trust even if you cannot see a way. It's scary, huh? But look how much God has already done for you?
Think about it. Subconsciously we trust God everyday to wake us up. Very few of us who are in good health go to sleep wondering if we'll arise in the morning. (Maybe we should, but that's another conversation). So, let's start trusting God with everything.
If He's great enough to continue to give us life, He's great enough to give us those things that we desire in our hearts. We've got to trust that He will work out our situations and give us peace when we need it.
It's simple. You can't trust if you doubt. It just doesn't work and we're limiting God. There's nothing He can't do, except fail. Know that, embrace it and let that be the guide to your trust.
